Russian military forces have launched an unjustified attack on Ukraine. President Putin has chosen a premeditated war that will bring a catastrophic loss of life and human suffering. Already, hundreds of civilians have died. Shelling and street violence in Ukraine’s biggest cities are killing people and destroying civilian infrastructure. Yet, Donald Trump praises ‘genius’ Putin and Republicans refuse to denounce Trump’s words. More than 500,000 people have fled the country as refugees, and there are thousands more trying to leave behind them. We are watching a humanitarian crisis unfold before our eyes. If Putin continues to choose aggression and military action over diplomacy, then we must also be prepared to help lead a humanitarian effort to support Ukrainians fleeing the conflict.

To win in these decisive battles ahead, we MUST keep organizing.

Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is an extraordinarily well-qualified Supreme Court nominee, who has already been confirmed by the Senate on a bipartisan basis three times. She is currently a judge on our nation’s second-highest court and has more years of experience as a trial court judge than any sitting Supreme Court justice. If confirmed, she would be only the second sitting justice with experience at all levels of the federal court system. As the first Black woman and first former public defender ever to serve as a justice, she would bring a critical new perspective to the Court.
The Senate should confirm her without delay.

Celebrating Women’s History Month
|
|
The activists of the Second Wave feminist movement literally changed the world. From 1965 to 1982, thousands of women (and men) took actions that made our country more equitable for women. Some of their stories are well known. Many of their stories have never been told. The VFA Pioneer Histories Project is the personal history of the Second Wave women’s movement – one story at a time. They have put together a page where you can just click on the photo or name of any of the feminists to read and listen to their stories & tell your own history.

Celinda Lake is one of the Democratic Party’s leading political strategists. She is one of the nation’s foremost experts on electing women candidates and on framing issues to women voters. American Politics calls Celinda a “super-strategist or, better yet, the Godmother,” and Working Woman says she is “arguably the most influential woman in her field.” This video on winning the 2022 election is from a Democracy Partner’s Progressive Mobilization Call that was a forum chaired by CAP’s Patrick Gaspard and featured Democracy Partner’s Mike Lux, and Lake Research pollster, Celinda Lake (featured above).
